Why does my shoulder hurt? A common question we are asked several times daily at Physioimpulse. This dissection illustrates one possible cause beautifully. The rotator cuff is made up of 4 muscles which essentially help to centre the ball (humeral head) in the socket (glenoid) at the shoulder joint. Tears, under activity or overactivity in any or all of these muscles can lead to "impingement" pain in the shoulder. People commonly suffer pinching pain with repetitive manual work, reaching and elevating the arms above 90 degrees. You don't need to suffer with these pains and a long course of pain relief is not always the answer. Following a full physiotherapy assessment our team can provide hands on therapy, taping, acupuncture and tailored rehab to restore full movement and pain free living!
