Sports Injury Physiotherapy

Competing in sport and looking for that competitive edge. Aches and pains holding you
back?
Look no further as our sports specific Chartered Physiotherapists are on hand to help at our Bath Sports Injury Clinics.
Whether you have sustained a recent injury or are struggling with a long term issue we aim
to provide individually tailored manual therapy sessions and sports specific exercise
programs to not only prevent recurrence, but to enhance sporting potential.

For this we follow a simple three step program, assessment, treatment and prevention:

Assessment is key:  we will assess you as an individual to highlight any imbalances or
misalignments and tailor rehab for your specific sport.  We will assess the nature of your sport
and uncover the potential causes of injury.

Tailored Treatment: Using a variety of manual treatment techniques we aim to treat the acute symptoms, reduce swelling and restore function. Such techniques include soft tissue massage, joint mobilisation, manipulation, taping, acupuncture and electrotherapy.

Prevention:  Using the most up to date and valid methods we will implement functional
strengthening programs and re-education of motor patterns to not only reach but exceed your
previous fitness level. Building on our assessment, using the ergonomics of your sport we
will aim to introduce optimal movement patterns and efficiencies to alleviate the symptoms
of inappropriate repetitive strain with the ultimate aim of preventing reoccurrence

'Physio Impulse has changed my life, I can't recommend them highly enough.  I was treated by Renu whose patience and careful explanations and well thought out individual work plan for my issues has helped to transform my daily life reducing my pain and improving issues that I've had most of my life.  As long as you follow the exercise plan and ask those questions that you might think are too small or silly then I guarantee you will feel the benefit.  Renu never made me feel silly (and I asked lots of questions) and understood that some weeks I was better than others and always listened carefully to my feedback to make sure we were on track.  If you have any concerns that you think physio might help with I would recommend the thorough Physio Impulse assessment as your starting point.'
