Stuart is our Lead Bristol and Bath Physiotherapist. He trained at King’s College London and graduated in 1999, he worked within the NHS for 5 years before moving in to private practice. Stuart has worked with London Welsh RFC and with many elite and aspiring elite athletes and sportsmen and women over the last 20 years. Stuart is also our Biomechanics Specialist and undertakes our Gait Analysis for the provision of Orthotics / Inserts and undertakes our running analysis service for those looking to maximise their potential and reduce the chances of injury. He is also currently Clinical Lead for a GP consortium in Bristol providing local Physiotherapy, Chiropractic and Osteopathy services. Stuart is a lecturer on our Post Graduate Course programmes and works within all our Bath Physiotherapy clinics at selected times. Surgery in Bristol.

Matthew Shepherd Bsc (Hons) Physiotherapy

Matt is our Clinical Specialist Bath Physiotherapist. He graduated from Huddersfield University in 2002 and worked for 2 years within local NHS Hospitals before specialising into sports and private practice. Working at a number of professional sports clubs, private clinics and hospitals has provided him with 19 years of invaluable experience in treating a range of clients from elite athletes to the weekend golfer striving to recover from a knee operation. With extensive post graduate training in Manual therapy, acupuncture, taping and rehabilitation he has acquired the skills to manage even the most complex presentations with expertise. Matt has also completed a Diploma in Injection Therapy which enables him to carry out pain relieving joint injections. He currently divides his time between our busy Bath Physiotherapy clinics and working as an extended scope practitioner carrying out Orthopaedic Clinics with Consultants at a Local Private Hospital. Alongside Stuart he is also a lecturer on our Post Graduate Course programmes.

Renu originally graduated from Leeds Metropolitan University with a BSc Hons Human Biology degree before going on to qualify from Northumbria University, Newcastle with an MSc Physiotherapy degree in 2006. She completed her junior rotations at Salisbury District Hospital before going on to work in the community setting with neurology patients in West Wiltshire. In 2009 she moved into the field of musculoskeletal physiotherapy at Chippenham Hospital and then went into private practice in 2012. Renu has a specialist interest in clinical pilates, soft tissue mobilisation including myofascial release, and acupuncture. Renu has also completed her pilates training with the Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates institute. Renu enjoys treating all musculoskeletal problems from neck pain to sporting injuries. She excels in the rehabilitation of people with long-standing back pain using a combination of manual therapies and Pilates; and believes in empowering people by having a greater understanding of their condition and how to take control of their symptoms.

Dele worked for 10 years in the National Health Service as a clinical radiographer before his interest moved into chiropractic having seen the benefits it had on his athletic training, recovery and performance when competing for his athletics club.
Dele spent 4 years completing the chiropractic masters degree at the University of South Wales and has treated a variety of patients developing an interest in treating patients with sporting injuries. Dele has taken further training in sports taping and dry needling and both of these treatments compliment chiropractic care.
Having competed at national level in athletics, he can appreciate the drive in wanting to compete at your best and chiropractic treatments can help achieve your potential. By tailoring individual treatments and rehabilitation exercises Dele is passionate about helping you achieve your goals. Dele is registered with the General Chiropractic Council

Jasper is a structural and rehab Osteopath with a Masters degree in Osteopathy and postgraduate training in neuro rehabilitation, human biomechanics and movement therapies, Jasper uses up to date evidence, backed by medical guidelines, to inform his treatments and make sure his patients make an optimal recovery from injury. He uses a range of techniques such as sports massage, taping, fascial release, passive and active articulations and manipulations alongside functional movement and breathing techniques to help support the healing process.
Jasper is especially interested in sports injuries and their prevention and has a particular interest in the biomechanics of adventure sports. Previously working as an associate at The Climbers Clinic based in the Castle Climbing Center he has experience of working with a wide range of climbing and cycling related injuries from minor sprains to post surgery rehab. He has over 30 years of cycling experience (from racing BMX to road cycling in the Pyrenees) and still loves everything two wheels. Away from bikes he enjoys an active lifestyle including surfing, climbing and running. Jasper works at our Bath clinics and also leads the Bike Fit service

Nigel is also a Silver Level Sports and Exercise First Aider with LUBAS medical and currently works alongside Whitehall Rugby Football Club in Bristol. Nigel works most days at our Bath clinics.

Katie has also spent a year as a live-in carer for clients with spinal cord injuries. She completed her NHS rotations in Manchester before specialising in neurological physiotherapy and moving down to the South West. Katie strongly believes in individualised treatment and helping empower patients to achieve their goals. Katie’s enjoys playing football and running in her spare time.

After working in all areas of Physiotherapy, she found her passion lay in Musculoskeletal (MSK) and Womens Health Physiotherapy . Womens health is a relatively new area of physiotherapy treatment in the UK, however Caroline has amassed a wealth of experience in this field in France where every mother is provided with post natal physiotherapy care, often with great results. Caroline is also very proficient in MSK treatments and enjoys massage therapy and will be carrying out all of these disciplines at our Bath clinics.

Throughout his time studying he’s undergone extensive testing and training leaving him well set to work in the field of soft tissue therapy. Throughout his studies he’s attained sports massage qualifications, and is currently on a placement working within an Olympic sport environment delivering the highest quality treatment to elite athletes. Calum has experience playing in elite Cricket and also holds a LUBAS First aid qualification for sport & exercise.
